Thank you for examining the Privacy Statement of Mapletree Investments Pte Ltd, its group of entities and private equity real estate funds under its management (referred to as “Mapletree”, “the Mapletree Group”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
This Privacy Statement supplements and does not supersede nor replace any other consents you may have previously provided to us, or any agreements or arrangement that you may have with us in respect of your Personal Data.
Please note that this Privacy Statement may be amended from time to time to reflect changes in applicable laws or the way we handle Personal Data. The amended Privacy Statement will supersede versions and will apply to Personal Data provided to us previously.
Personal Data:
Personal Data refers to data about an individual who can be identified from that data, or from that data and other information.
Depending on the nature of your interaction with us, the Personal Data which we may collect includes:
- Name, address, telephone numbers, email address, identification numbers, driving license and vehicle ownership, occupation, financial or payment information, insurance information, membership or subscription details, images, voice recording, facial image, fingerprint, date of birth or age and other information which you have provided us in any form or through interactions with us;
- Information from your use of our websites or other services including IP addresses and browsing or transactional history;
- Behavioural history and other preferences which you may express to us as you interact with our products and services;
- Employment and educational background, medical health and physical history, criminal history, ethnic and racial origin, nationality, religion, income levels and other information related to your employment or in connection with your job enquiries or applications;
- CCTV footages and images on our premises, including car parks, for the purposes of safeguarding our customers and employees and our facilities and property; and
- Any other information of a personal nature which you disclose to us.
Collection of Personal Data:
Mapletree collects personal data through various methods depending on the purpose of the collection, including the following:
- When you fill in physical or online forms or by corresponding with us face-to-face with our representatives, or by post, phone, email, chatbot, social media or otherwise.
- When you visit our websites, downloading or using our mobile applications. Please refer to “Cookies” below for more details
- When you sign up for our loyalty or other programs, creating an account with us or subscribing to our mailing lists.
- When you send us requests, enquiries or feedback.
- When you respond to our promotions, market surveys or other initiatives.
- When you visit or make transactions at the retail and commercial establishments that we own or manage or interact with us at events or functions organised by us or being conducted at our establishments.
- When you provide us with your image or allowing us to capture your image when you are on properties we own or manage when you attend events or functions organised or conducted by us. We use CCTV systems and equivalent devices within the properties (including carparks) that we own or manage for safety and security reasons. Where applicable, your separate consent will be obtained.
- When you submit an employment, internship or secondment application to us.
- When you submit your personal data to us for any other reason.
Cookies: Mapletree and its agents may collect and store information through the use of “cookies” when you access this website, such as the name of your internet access service provider, web sites that referred you to this website, the pages that you request for, and the date and time of those requests.
Mapletree and its agents shall use such information to generate statistics and improve the contents of the website and shall not provide the information to any unrelated company for that company’s independent use or any other third party unless otherwise required by law. You may disable cookies from being stored on your computer by changing your browser settings. Disabling cookies may impair the functionality and services of this website. Mapletree and its agents do not have access to or control over cookies on websites which may be hyperlinked from this website or that are hyperlinked to this website.
Third Party Personal Data: If you provide the personal data of anyone other than yourself (e.g. your emergency contacts, dependent, spouse, children, friends and next of kin), you represent that it is lawful for you to do so in that they have provided valid consent for your provision of their Personal Data to us, as well as further processing of that Personal Data by us for the purposes set out in this Privacy Statement.
It is important that the Personal Data we hold about you is accurate and up to date. It is your responsibility to ensure that all Personal Data that you provide is accurate and complete, and to inform us of relevant changes to your Personal Data.
Minors: Our services are generally not directed to children and minors, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children or minors without the consent from their parents. If you are a child or minor, please ensure that consent from your parent or guardian have been obtained before you submit any Personal Data to us. If you are a parent or guardian of such a person and you have reason to believe this person has provided us with their Personal Data without your prior consent, please contact us to request the erasure of their Personal Data or for the person to be unsubscribed from our mailing lists.
Use, Disclosure and Protection of Personal Data:
In general and subject to applicable law, we will use and disclose your Personal Data in the following manner:
- Processing your transactions with us and to provide you with the products or services that you have requested, including preparing documentation as may be required to carry out the transactions with you.
- Providing you with the goods and services which you have signed up for.
- Verifying your identity, managing our relationship with you, and communicating with you, including responding to your queries, requests and complaints.
- Providing you with ongoing information about our products and services which may be of interest to you. However, if you have registered your telephone number with the national Do Not Call (DNC) Registry in Singapore (or equivalent in the relevant jurisdiction), we will not send you promotional or marketing messages via your telephone unless you have provided us with your consent to do so. If you have previously provided us with such consent, then unless this is withdrawn, we may continue to send promotional and marketing messages via your telephone.
- Detecting, preventing or otherwise addressing security, safety or technical issues in connection with products and services we provide.
- Facilitating administrative purposes, including finance, IT and HR purposes, quality assurance and staff training.
- Carrying out surveys, research, data matching and statistical analysis to determine customer or business needs, establish user profiles for service improvement and marketing, and to evaluate and improve our products, operations and services.
- Managing our business, including disclosing your personal data to third parties who provide services to us such as our service providers and data processors (providing services such as hosting and maintenance services, analysis services, e-mail messaging services, delivery services, handling of payment transactions, marketing, human resources, and professional services), and our consultants and professional advisors (such as accountants, lawyers, auditors).
- We may disclose or share your Personal Data to our third party vendors and service providers, who are engaged to provide business, support, operational and/ or administrative functions such as auditing, legal, marketing, payment, fulfilment and delivery of orders.
- We may also collect, use, disclose and process your Personal Data, without your consent, where this is required and/or permitted by law. In this respect, where available under applicable laws, we may justify this processing on our legitimate interests or because it is necessary to comply with a legal obligation.
- Such purposes that may be informed to you when your Personal Data is collected.
- Any other reasonable purposes related to the aforesaid.
We will ensure that your Personal Data are protected and kept confidential, but subject always to applicable laws and the purposes for which your Personal Data was collected, we may disclose your Personal Data to third parties. However, please be assured that we will only disclose your Personal Data to the extent necessary. The third parties includes:
- Any entity within the Mapletree Group of entities.
- Our agents, third party service providers, specialist advisers or professional advisors who have been contracted to provide us with legal, administrative, financial, research, operational or other services such as information technology, payment, payroll, storage, archival and telecommunication.
- Any third party business partners who offers good and services or sponsor contest or other promotional activities, whether in conjunction with us or not, and where permitted by applicable laws.
- Relevant government regulators or authority or law enforcement agency to compy with any laws or rules and regulations.
- Any other party as may be consented to by you, as specified by you or as may be notified to you by us subsequently.
Do note that when personal data is collected from or disclosed to another data controller, such data controller will independently determine how it processes your personal data in accordance with its own privacy policies and notices. We will, to the extend required under applicable laws, provide you additional information as you may require to enforce your rights.
We also transfer and/or share your Personal Data for storage, administrative, operational and business purposes. This may include transfering and sharing your Personal Data to countries outside your country of residence. Rest assure we will take reasonable steps to ensure that your Personal Data transferred outside of your country of residence is adequately protected, in compliance with the requirements of the appplicable data protection laws.
Retention of Personal Data
Your Personal Data may be retained by us for as long as it is necessary of the purpose it has been collected. Where we no longer require your Personal Data, we will cease to retain such Personal Data in accordance with our internal retention policy.
The basic period of data processing may be extended in the event when the processing is necessary to establish or pursue claims or protect rights, and after this period – only in the situation and scope as required by law (extended period of data processing).
What are your rights?
Subect to the law of the jurisdiction you are in or where we operate, you may enjoy certain rights at law relating to your Personal Data. Such rights include:
- Request for access to your Personal Data.
A person whose data is processed may request information whether his or her personal data is processed, and if yes – access to it.
Upon request of a person regarding access to his or her data, we inform such a person of the scope, manner and purpose of the data processing, as well as grant such a person access to the data pertaining to him or her. Access may be realized through provision of a copy of the data and the first copy of the data is provided free of charge. In the event of requesting further copies of the data, the Controller is entitled to charge a fee corresponding to the administrative costs. - Request to rectify your Personal Data, including updating your Personal Data where you believe it to be incomplete.
In the event when Personal Data is outdated or incorrect, you may request to rectify it. In the event when the Personal Data is made available to other entities, we inform these entities of rectification of the Personal Data. - Request to delete (“right to be forgotten”) or restrict the processing of your Personal Data we hold of you under certain circumstances.
If the Personal Data has been made available to other entities, we will rtake reasonable actions, including technical measures, to inform these entities of the need to delete the Personal Data and access to it. Upon your request, we inform you of the entities to which your Personal Data has been made available. - Where we rely on your consent to use your Personal Data, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Please note that this withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on your consent before your withdrawal but we may not be able to continue to provide our products or services to you should be decide the withdraw your consent.
- Request the transfer of certain of your personal data to another party under certain conditions.
We will, upon your request, provide the data processed in IT systems, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format or transmits the data – if possible – to another entity requested by you.
Where mandated under applicable data privacy laws, the exercise if your rights shall be free of charge. In all other situations, a small fee may be charged.
Please note that we may be permitted under applicable laws to refuse a request.

Governing Law
This Privacy Statement and you use of this website shall be governed under the laws of Singapore.
